Food Technology

The food Industry,be it the processing industry or the catering industry, is one of the largest and most needed industry in the world today fulfilling one of our three basic needs.

Our department achieved 9 ranks in Mahatma Gandhi University examinations. Food Science is a systematic study of the nature of food materials and the scientific principles underlying their modification,preservation and spoilage.To understand food science,the basic concepts of physics,chemistry,mathematics and biology and their applications.Biochemistry,microbiology and food technology are necessary to prepare,package and service wholesome high quality products. St.Mary’s College for Women is one of the few College in Kerala offering this specialised course.
