Department of Microbiology offers B.Sc Microbiology and M.Sc Microbiology courses.

Microbiology overlaps the various areas of Biology like Molecular Biology, Genetics and Immunology. Career opportunities for microbiologists abound in the wake of new technologies that have changed the face of biology. Increased emphasis on system level and quantitative research in Microbiology has opened new doors for working in interdisciplinary research teams.

Our department has excellent faculty members. We have a well equipped laboratory with all facilities required for different fields of Microbiology.

Students will acquire essential professional skills such as interpersonal skills, communication skills, math skill, logical thinking skill, observation skill and basic skills in biological techniques, scientific investigations etc.

Our vision is to produce highly qualified and competent students in all the areas of Microbiology. Our students have scored 17 ranks in both UG and PG examinations in Mahatma Gandhi University. Many of our students are placed in different countries and many of them have cleared CSIR/UGC – NET. Many of our students are working in both government as well as in private sectors all over the world.
