Biotechnology considered as one of the fastest growing science –based industries which act as the fuel for the growth of global economy. Biotechnology is the broad area of biology involving living system & organism to develop or make product for specific use.

The Biotechnology programme at St.Mary’s college is crafted to build up a thorough knowledge on different sectors of life by integrating the concept of molecular biology, Tissue culture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics , Genetic engineering and other deciplines of life sciences. This is technology based on biology especially used in agriculture, food science & medicines. Our department has both undergraduate(B.sc) & postgraduate(M.sc) programmes.

The Department imparting quality education and training students to make them competent, motivated & scientists. The department has 7 excellent faculty members from diverse stream and specializations.

The department has extensive infrastructure to support the ongoing teaching and project works.Our department achieved 11 ranks in both UG & PG in Mahatma Gandhi University examinations 3 of our students were placed in Wipro by campus selection.
